Simply rotate / clock the outer sleeve to get the angle you need to tune the direction of muzzle rise.  The port at the 12:00 position is at 0.070" which typically is good for an 18" barrel but for shorter barrels you can open it up a bit -- say to 0.100".  Installation is extremely simple. There's no crush washer nor spacers required for mounting.
