The Maxim Defense EXC pistol "extended cheek weld". If ever you decide to convert from pistol to registered SBR, you simply purchase / install the buttstock portion of the system -- no need to purchase the buffer tube or captured buffer system.

The Maxim CQB Pistol EXC is your top choice when it comes to functionality, durability, and comfort for your AR15 pistol. Thanks to our buffer & spring, or our exclusive JP Silent Captured Spring, the EXC only adds 5.35” to your receiver at its most collapsed position with no special bolt carrier needed. It adjusts to 4 total positions giving your AR15 pistol the adjustments needed for the perfect cheek weld. The EXC is also perfect to use on your soon-to-be short barreled AR15 while you’re waiting on your Form 1 to clear. Once the form clears, simply swap out the cheek brace.

IMPORTANT:  SELECT BUFFER WEIGHT ABOVE - (descriptions below):

• Standard - standard weight -- comparable to standard weight traditional buffer.  Keep in mind you can always convert to 'heavy' or '9mm' later by purchasing only the weight(s) from JP or Maxim.  If you don't know what you need (and you don't have a 9mm or other blowback operated AR15) choose this option.
• Heavy - recommended for select fire (machinegun) and some 300 BLK.  If you'd use a heavier traditional buffer, select this option.
• 9mm -- the heaviest of the three.
